Whispers from the RoundPen

We need your help!

This is a call to action, Post, tag, make a video, talk about it.

Columbiana County Humane Society does not have a humane officer, they have very little equine knowledge. They must step down. They must turn the investigation over to the Columbiana Prosecutors office.

Our Mission

Our mission is to bring justice and accountability for the horses who suffered at the Pur Gold facility in Salem, Ohio. We are a united community of animal advocates, equine professionals, and concerned citizens calling on the Columbiana County Humane Society to do what is right—to release its investigative file and allow a full, independent criminal investigation by the Columbiana County Prosecutor’s Office and the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Department.

We believe every animal deserves protection, compassion, and dignity. When the very systems created to defend them fail to act, it becomes our duty to speak out and demand change. Through this petition, we aim to ensure that the Humane Society fulfills its responsibility to the community and the animals it was founded to protect, that justice is pursued without delay, and that no animal in Columbiana County ever suffers in silence again.

Voices of the Victims

"It's been reported for years. But they "had hay and water" so nothing was done. Heather threw round bales out in the pasture in panic when someone tipped her off that she was being reported"

Kristen Kennelly- Facebook post

"Someone had to of known something. Horses dont just starve and no one notices. Or how do you not look into the round pen of a facility you're going to lease. I just don't understand"

Deserae Steele

"I have a horse that someone pulled out of there early on in 2023. He was in the back barn and starved. I got him after the fact but he was still very underweight when I got him. I wouldnt be suprised if those were the horses he was with in the winter of 2023. With what the remains look like, they have been there a long time"
